Xiaomi Mi5 was supposed to be the smartphone with the most powerful specs, replete with features.
But as it turns out the company has reserved the best for its sibling Xiaomi Mi5 Plus. China’s regulatory body for certifying mobile phones, TENAA had a few images of Mi5 Plus which were quickly removed.
Mi5 Release Date
According to Mobile picker Mi 5 will launch sometime in November 2015. According to their roadmap, company plans on launching four handsets this year—the Mi 4S, Redmi Note 2, Redmi Note 2 Pro, and Mi 5.
Xiaomi Mi5 specifications
Rumors spoke that this phone would feature the latest next-gen Snapdragon 820 processor. But that’s not true. The handset will come with Snapdragon 810 Quad-core 2.2 GHz and quad-core 1.8 GHz processor featuring a 4 GB RAM. It will run on Android 5.1 Lollipop OS.
The handset may also come with a fingerprint sensor.
It also supports A-GPS, GLONASS and Beidou.
Xiaomi Mi 5 design
The Mi 5 may look very similar to Xiaomi Mi4. It may turn out to be a smaller version of Mi5 Plus after all. It’s rumored to be 5.3 inches.
According to Weibo, Xiaomi Mi5 will sport 5.2-inch QHD LCD display with a 1440p (2,560 x 1,440 pixel) resolution, along with Corning Gorilla Glass 4. According to TENAA, Mi5 Plus will measure in at 155.1 x 77.6 x 6.95 mm, weighing just 160 grams. We could expect Mi5 to be in the same range.
Xiaomi Mi5 Camera
Weibo suggests that the handset will feature a 16 MP rear-facing camera with a 13 MP front-facing camera. Good for selfies. It will a flipside camera, which is kind of unusual for Mi products and will be hidden under the chassis to be flipped and used when required.
Xiaomi Battery
It will most likely sport a 3,000 mAh battery unit with quick-charging capability(60% in 3 minutes).
Price of Xiaomi Mi5
It will reportedly cost $386.
Xiaomi Mi5 Plus Specifications
The Mi5 Plus will feature a 5.7-inch QHD display and will be a phablet. All rumors indicate towards a Snapdragon 820 chip. The handset may sport 23 MP rear-facing camera with a 23 MP front-facing camera . It has a battery with higher capacity at at 3,500 mAh and may also have quick charging.
